Kenya 7s head coach Innocent Simiyu is confident that the side will meet it’s target during the 2017/18 world sevens series set to get underway with the Dubai 7s in December.

The side is currently at residential training in Nanyuki with another contingent of 12 players having left this morning to honour the Safland  7s in Namibia where they will be coached by Simiyu’s assistant Will Webster.

“Everything has been good, our pre-season has been good, we’ve been able to condition the players and also improve their skills while bringing in new players who are skilled.”Simiyu told Kenya Rugby.

“It’s a long season, there’ll be ups and downs,  but we know  and believe we will be able to meet our targets as we have done enough in terms of preparations.”he added.

After the Safland 7s the team will shift attention to the Dubai 7s which kicks off on 1 December.

In Dubai,Simiyu’s charges are pitted in group A alongside South Africa’s Blitzboks, Uganda and Canada.
