Mean Machine coach Phelim Kidakwa is elated after seeing his charges oust Strathmore Leos from the Impala Floodlit with a 11-6 triumph in the quarter final.

Machine managed a single unconverted try and two penalties which propelled them to causing one of the major upsets at this year’s Floodlit tournament and Kidakwa believes claiming the braggingvrights in the university Derby will help boost their confidence.

“Beating Strathmore Leos was a morale booster to us considering that they are a Kenya cup side,”he says.

“my players have finally gained rugby knowledge and iam happy with their performance considering we had little time to train following the universities closure,”he adds.

Eschuma are set to come up against hosts Impala Saracens in the semi final of the Floodlit tournament on Saturday,11 November.
