Strathmore Leos coach John Mbai admits that the side is still a work in progress after a shock loss to Mean Machine in the Impala Floodlit quarters.

Strathmore has been hard hit by a mass Player exodus as they lost upto 6 key players to rival clubs and Mbai says they are still rebuilding having seen his side eliminated from the 2017 Floodies.

Having previously coached Machine, Mbai further acknowledges that the University of Nairobi side had a lot of knowledge about Strathmore prior to the crunch University derby.

“Machine has a lot of knowledge about Strathmore and vice versa. They are rebuilding just like us but they have not lost a lot of players like Strathmore,”says Mbai.

The loss meant that Strathmore are relegated to the plate where they are set to meet the winner between Kisii RFC and Sportpesa Quins in the plate final.
