Kenya U-20 international Melvin Thairu has joined Kenya cup side Sportpesa Quins. 

The prop joins the Ngong Road side from University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine after the students were relegated to the KRU Championship following a dismal performance in last season’s Kenya Cup campaign.

Quins has also raided Nondies for the trio of Erick Kioko, John Okwara and Alex Mutune.

Brian Obwaya has joined the side from rivals Mwamba RFC while former Kenya international lock Lewis Olaka makes a return.

“We are in still discussion with various players and hope to finalize the transfers with the clubs in the coming week or two in line with KRU Regulations and deadlines”team manager Jimmy Mnene is quoted by the club’s portal.
Quins had earlier completed the swoop for Ugandan trio of Solomon Okia,Joseph Aredo as well as Aaron Ofoyrwoth and all had a run in the concluded national sevens series.
