Premiership side Harlequins has received a huge blow after hooker Dave Ward was slapped with a three-week ban for striking in his side’s European Champions Cup clash against Wasps on Sunday.

Despite finishing the match unpunished, the England player was cited by the Independent Disciplinary Committee for striking Wasps flanker Thomas Young with his head in the 47th minute,an offence which is worthy of a red card.
