Assupol 7s hosts South Africa have recalled veteran members of the squad ahead of this weekend’s tournament at the Markotter Sports grounds in Stellebosch.
Head coach Neill Powell has handed call ups to the duo of Justin Geduld and Kyle Brown who had been sidelined with injuries.
Brown’s last appearance for the side was in 2016 during the Cape Town 7s where he picked a knee injury that kept him out for the rest of the 2016/17 season while Geduld injured his foot at the Las Vegas 7s in March.
The side also sees the return of regulars Rosko Specman and Chris Dry who played a pivotal role as they won the World 7s series.
South Africa is in pool A at the Assupol 7s alongside Kenya,Scotland and England Academy.
They begin their title hunt with a clash against England Academy on Saturday morning before tackling Kenya and Scotland.
