All Blacks youngster Rieko Ioane has been shortlisted in the category of World Rugby breakthrough Player of the year ahead of the global awards ceremony scheduled for 6 November 2017 in Monte Carlo.
Other shortlisted players in contention for the gong are Argentine winger Emiliano Boffeli and France centre Damian Penaud.
The award was last year won by England second rower Mark Itoje as Ioane’s countryman Nehe Milner-Skudder was feted two years ago.
Players must have featured for less than a year in senior international rugby so as to be eligible to contest for the prize.
Ioane made his senoir All Blacks debut in November 2016,coming off the bench against Italy in Rome to become the eighth youngest All Blacks test debuntant at the age of 19.
