Impala Saracens has crashed out at the ongoing Dala 7s after a shock 17-10 loss to Blak Blad in the cup quarters this Sunday 22 October 2017 in Kisumu.
The university side took the lead as Moses Begi went over for a converted try before Samson Onsomu responded for Impala as scores read 7-5 in Blad’s favour.
Leon Adongo gave Impala a 10-7 lead from kickoff but Blak Blad responded courtesy of tries by Achadius Kwesa and Moses Begi to claim a 17-10 win and reach the cup semis for the first time in this year’s circuit.
Earlier,Kabras,KCB and Homeboyz had sealed their place in the semis after seeing off their quarter finals opponents.
The sugarmillers were off to a fine start as Kenya 7s international Brian Tanga outpaced Bulls players to score before Dominic Osino converted for a 7-0 lead.
Fidel Oloo then broke away for Kabras’ second of the match as Phillip Wokorach added the extras ensuring Charles Cardovillis Charges took control of the match.
Wokorach would then get his name onto the scoresheet after sidestepping his opponent to touch down before Osino converted.
Kabras would ensure their dominance in the Kakamega derby remained intact as they landed a late try to secure a 26-0 win which sees them book a date with KCB in the cup semis after the bankers walloped Webuye RFC
KCB took the lead courstesy of a try by Ahmed Shaban before Collins Nato,Mike Kimwele,Davies Chenge and Essau Otieno all touched down to hand the side a 36-0 win.
Homeboyz also booked a last four berth after securing a 15-5 win over Makueni RFC in the cup quarters.
Charles Omondi handed Homeboyz the lead with an unconverted try before Jeff Oluoch added a second to ensure the Deejays led 10-0 at halftime.
Makueni pulled a try back in the second half but Mark Wandeto sealed the win for Homeboyz as he landed a try.
