KCB RFC has qualified for the cup final at the ongoing Dala 7s after seeing off rivals Kabras Sugar 12-5 in the semi final on Sunday 22 October.

Going into the clash,Kabras needed a win to secure the overall title but the loss to KCB means that they must win the 3rd place playoff  and hope that Paul Murunga’s charges dont win the final if they are to dethrone them.

Shaban Ahmed handed the bankers a perfect start as he went over at the corner before Kabras’ Fidel Oloo was sent to the sinbin for a trip on Isaac Njoroge.KCB would capitalize on defensive errors by Kabras to land a converted try for a 12-0 lead at the interval.

After resumption,KCB were also reduced to six men as Arthur Owira saw yellow and immediately thereafter Dominic Osino pulled one back for Kabras but Wokorach failed in his bid to add the extras.

The bankers held on to claim a 12-5 win which means that Kabras must win the third place playoff in order to clinch overall title.

KCB will battle for the Dala 7s main cup against Homeboyz afer the Deejays came from behind to beat Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad 22-7 in the second semi final.

Levy Amunga handed Blad the lead as he barged over the whitewash for a converted try before Victor Omondi drew Homeboyz level with a try which Michael Wanjala converted from a tight angle.

Homeboyz would take the lead for the first time in the contest courtesy of Cyprian Kuto before Bush Mwale added a third before Jeff Oluoch completed the rout.

Elsewhere,tries from Eliab Barasa,Chrispin Shitundo and Duncan Abuyeka’s brace handed Western Bulls a 29-5 win over Webuye to send the side to the 5th place final final where they are set to battle Impala Saracens after the Sarries overpowered Makueni 17-5 in the other semi final duel.

The Challenge trophy final will be a university derby after Catholic Monks saw off UOE 17-0 while Daystar Falcons outwitted Kisii RFC 15-10.

In the 13th place semi finals,hosts Kisumu landed two unconverted tries to narrowly edge Egerton Wasps 10-5.Kisumu will now contest for 13th position with MKU Stingerz after the former beat MMUST 12-10 in the other semi final clash.
