Kabras RFC head coach Charles Cardovillis has heaped praise on his charges after their stellar display saw them successfully defend the Christie 7s crown.
Despite narrowly loosing to Quins on the first day,a result which saw them finish second in pool A,the Sugarmillers bounced back on the second day claiming crucial wins against KCB and Nakuru before dismissing Impala Saracens in the final.Cardovillis says that he is proud of his player’s display.
“Iam really proud of the boys and iam happy for the win.It was a nice tournament and we had come for a win,”Cardovillis told Scrummage.
“I had told the boys that this would be one of the toughest tournaments since they would be coming up against some of the toughest sides,”he added.
“Day one was not easy because we lost to Quins and we had to improve on the second day.The boys really played well on the second day – they put away KCB and Nakuru and also stood up to the occassion against Impala in the final.”he concluded.
Heading to the final leg of the circuit,the Kakamega-based side sits at the helm of the national standings having amassed a total of 85 points.
