Kenya 7s head coach Innocent Simiyu is calling upon Kenyan clubs to improve on their approach during breakdown inorder to avoid conceding more penalties in the shorter version of the game.
The tactician says that preparations is key and teams need to invest in educating their playing units concerning the breakdowns.
“Preparation is key..some teams usually get their preparations wrong and of course how to approach the game in terms of breakdown,”Simiyu told Scrummage.
“I think alot of education needs to be done on that because there have been a lot of penalties awarded on the breakdown area..moving the ball, consistency and kickoff are also very important,”he concluded.
The national 7s circuit will reach its penultimate leg this weekend with the Christie 7s in Nairobi before concluding in Kisumu on October 21,2017 with the Dala 7s.
