Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has embraced the national 7s circuit break ahead of the penultimate leg of the circuit scheduled for Nairobi on 14-15 October.

The Nakuru based side has so far registered mixed results in the first 4 legs of the circuit, reaching the cup final on one occasion and making the semis twice and coach Weru says that they needed the break as it will allow them to re-energize ahead of the Christie 7s.

“We really needed this break because it gives us time to re-energize and set out plans for the next two tournaments,”Weru toldĀ Scrummage.

The championship side will be hoping that their key player Daniel Abuonji passes a fitness test after he limped off during the 3rd place playoff clash against Homeboyz RFC at the Sepetuka 7s.
