This year’s Safari 7s tournament that was scheduled for November 3,2017 in Nairobi has been postponed to a further date,according to a statement by the Kenya Rugby Union.

“The KRU has regrettably arrived at the decision to postpone this year’s Safari Sevens which was set for 3 November 2017 at the RFUEA ground.Planning and preparations were at an advanced stage but,after considering alternative dates and, after consultations with both internal and external stakeholders as a result of mounting challenges and uncertainty in the prevailing political climate, the Local Organizing Committee have advised the KRU Board it would be prudent to postpone the event,”read a statement on KRU’s portal.

This year’s tournament which was set to return to te RFUEA grounds after a 5 year absence has been called off even after teams like the Barracudas,Germany,Zimbabwe,Spain,Uganda and the Western Province had already confirmed their participation.

The Kenya Rugby Union is set to announce the new dates in due course.
