Strathmore Leos is hoping that their key player Elkeans Musonye will be fit for the next assignment after picking up an ankle injury at the concluded Sepetuka 7s tournament.

Musonye was instrumental as the Leos bounced back after a horrible day one at the Sepetuka 7s as they beat Mean Machine to clinch the challenge trophy and the team’s head coach John Mbai says that they will be hoping Musonye’s injury won’t sideline him for a long period.

“He (Musonye) picked up an ankle injury during our last match against Machine..we hope that with the coming break he will get enough time to recover so that we can have him for the next tournament,”Mbai toldĀ Scrummage.

Musonye joins Alex Olaba on the injury list as the latter missed the Sepetuka 7s action due to an injury he is nursing.

The university side is currently ranked 7th in the national 7s circuit standings having collected 45 points.
