After reaching the Challenge trophy final at the Sepetuka 7s where they fell to Strathmore Leos,Mean Machine head coach Ramsfield Matekwa says that he was impressed with his charges’ perfomance.

Machine had a bad outing on day one loosing two matches in the pool stages but they would redeem themselves on the second day upsetting Kenya cup sides Nondies and Mwamba enroute the Challenge trophy final and Matekwa says that their perfomance was good bearing in mind that some of their key players were sidelined with minor injuries.

“My boys have perfomed quite well and there are some minor injuries which made us not to reach where we would have like as a team..we are looking forward to an improved perfomance in the next tournament,”Matekwa told Scrummage.

The university of Nairobi side currently lies at 10th position in the national 7s circuit standings having collected a total 0f 30 points,15 of which came during the first leg of the circuit in Mombasa where they finished fourth.
