Kabras RFC head coach Charles Cardovillis says that the improvement effected on their defence was key in ensuring that they were crowned champions at the fourth leg of the national 7s circuit, the Sepetuka 7s in Eldoret.
Kabras’ backline was breached on only four occassions in the entire two-day tournament and Cardovillis attributes their main cup triumph to the major work done on their defence.
“Coming to the Sepetuka 7s tournament,we wanted to strengthen our defence and i think we achieved our goal as we conceded only 4 tries since day one,”Cardovillis told Scrummage.
“It is obviously a fantastic feeling to have won this tournament..Iam happy for the boys for having put in hard work in training and it has paid off,”he added.
The win over Impala Saracens in the cup final did not only ensure that the Sugarmillers won their first main cup in this year’s circuit but also propelled them to second spot in the overall standings having gannered 63 points after 4 legs.
