KCB RFC managed to sneak into the main cup quarter finals of the ongoing Sepetuka 7s after narrowly edging rivals Mwamba RFC 20-15 at the Eldoret Sports Club on Saturday,September 30.

Going into the match,both Mwamba and KCB had one win and the winner of the contest would join Impala from pool A in tommorrow’s main cup quarters.

KCB took an early advantage scoring two quick tries before former Kenya 7s international Humphrey Khayange reduced the deficit to 10-5 at the break.Alex Aturo would then level the scores with a second half try before Humphrey Kayange grabbed his brace to hand Kulabu a 15-10 lead but that was shortlived as the bankers scored two tries to secure quarter final qualification.

After falling short at Driftwood and Prinsloo 7s where they were relegated to the Challenge trophy,Western Bulls have made it to the main cup quarter finals of the Sepetuka 7s after beating Makueni RFC in their final pool D clash at the Eldoret Sports Club on Saturday,September 30.

In a clash which was tied 7-all at the break,Western Bulls turned on the style on their opponents in the second half,touching down thrice to claim a win and make it to the cup quarters for the very first time in this year’s national 7s circuit.

Impala Saracens finished top in pool A after capping their great display on day one with a convicing 29-5 win over Catholic Monks.Impala’s tries were scored by Quinto Ongo,Ian Mabwa who grabbed a brace,Mark Kwemoi and Timothy Makiya.

Menengai Oilers joined with a hundred percent record after day one as the Nakuru-based side walloped Nondies 33-5 to relegate the Kenya cup participants to the Challenge trophy quarter final.

Nakuru RFC also qualified for the main cup quarter finals after brushing aside Blak Blad 22-7 in the final pool B match.Homeboyz RFC confirmed top spot in pool C after demolishing Sportpesa Quins 35-7 in a match which Quins were dealt a blow after Frank Wanyama was sent to the sinbin.

Kabras RFC completed the day with a 17-0 drubbing of Stratmore Leos,a result that sees the students miss out on cup quarters as Kabras finish top of pool D.
