Sportpesa Quins director of rugby Edward Kinyany has slammed the match official at the Prinsloo 7s after they bowed out at the cup quarter final stage.
Quins had mixed fortunes in the pool stages where they won against Western Bulls and bitter rivals Mwamba RFC before succumbing to a loss against Oilers and Strathmore Leos in the semis and Kinyany has slammed the match official who took charge of their match against Strathmore,saying the match was ended prematurely.
“We reached the cup quarter finals where we played Strathmore. The game was an evenly matched affair though Strath had the upper hand in the second half was a great spectacle though interpretation of the laws by the referee was wanting especially after he chose end the game prematurely,”Kinyany told Quins Media.
“The players were quickly into the thick of things and had a very controlled game against the Bulls however, Mwamba made us fight for every inch. The last pool game against Oilers started well but we run out of steam and saw the importance tactical substitutions.”he added.
Quins will be out for a much improved perfomance at the fouth leg of the national 7s circuit,Sepetuka 7s slated for 30 september to October 1 in Eldoret.
The Ngong Road based side is in pool C alongside hosts Homeboyz RFC,Mean Machine and MKU Thika.
