Daniel Abuonji’s absence at last weekend’s Prinsloo 7s has been explained by head coach Gibson Weru.

Abuonji sat out all the 6 matches that Oilers played at the two-day tournament and coach Weru says that this was necessitated by a slight knock on the knee that the former Homeboyz star was nursing.

“I felt that it was not right to play him (Abuonji) because he had picked a slight knock on his knee.. He may feature next weekend at the Sepetuka 7s if he will be fit” Weru told Scrummage.

Oilers will be out to reclaim their podium finish a Sepetuka after a lucklustre showing at Prinsloo 7s last weekend.
