Menengai Oilers are not worried despite a lucklustre showing at last weekend’s Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru where they were loosing finalists in the Challenge trophy final.

Oilers lost to Mwamba in the pool stage before playing to a draw against Western Bulls and claiming a win against Quins a result that saw them drop to the Challenge trophy but head coach Gibson Weru says all is not lost.

“We are not worried at all because we are on the right track.. We have been picking valuable lessons since the series kicked off,” Weru told Scrummage.

The Nakuru based side started off the national sevens circuit on a good note, finishing third at Driftwood 7s before claiming second spot at Kabeberi and many rugby enthusiast were hoping that they would cause ripples at Prinsloo 7s but that was not to be.

“I think there were lapses in concentration with the boys because we had a very tough outing on day one”

“We lost a match, drew one and won the other but that was not enough to take us to the cup quarters,”Concluded Weru.
