Despite registering one win at Prinsloo 7s, Western Bulls Head coach Howard Okwemba has heaped praise on his team, saying that the boys exhibited maturity and commitment in the tournament.
Western Bulls were in group B where they lost to Kenya Harlequins 17-5 in their first game. They managed to hold Menengai Oilers 15-15 in their second match before falling to Mwamba RFC 19-10 in the final group stages clash.
Only victory
The Kakamega based side dropped to the Challenge trophy where they beat Mean Machine in the semi finals but were edged out by Impala who beat them 17-5 at the Challenge trophy Semis.
Okwemba believes that his charges showed an improved performance and he hopes that they will maintain the same in the upcoming tournament.
” Due to the hard training we took the boys during the break, they have shown some form of maturity and confidence on the approach of the games, if Prinsloo is anything to go by. We hope to maintain the same tempo next weekend or even push it a little bit higher.” Okwemba told the club’s official portal.
Echulusi will be hoping to perform better in the Sepetuka 7s to be held in Eldoret next weekend.
