Geoffrey Ominde was the hero as Nakuru RFC staged a second half comeback to beat Kabras RFC 24-17 in a thrilling quarter final clash at the ongoing Prinsloo 7s on Sunday, September 24 in Nakuru.
Oscar Ouma gave Nakuru the lead early in the match after he had been put through by Kevin Kioko but the conversion went wide.
Kabras found a response as Dan Sikuta cancelled Ouma’s try to level the scores before the Charles Cardovillis-coached side extended the lead after Jacob Okumba went over under the posts before Felix Ayange added Kabras’ third of the match ensuring they took a 17-5 lead to halftime.
After resumption,Nakuru reduced the deficit to 5 points as Oscar Ouma went over before Gramwell Bunyasi dived over tovtie the scores at 17-all.
Geoffrey Ominde then showed a clean pair of heals to touch down under the posts as Nakuru sailed to the semis with a 24-17 win.
