Homeboyz RFC began their Prinsloo 7s title defence campaign with a convincing 38-0 win over Mombasa RFC at the Nakuru Athletic Club on Saturday,September 23.
Jeffrey Oluoch struck a brace as Humphrey Mulama also touched down with Michael Wanjala adding the extras as the Deejays took a 21-0 lead to halftime.
Soon after resumption, Oluoch added two more tries to his name before Stanley Isogol completed the rout as Homeboyz underlined their title credentials.
In the second pool A clash,Nondies suffered a humiliating 22-5 defeat at the hands of Blak Blad in a clash which Moses Begi and Stormy Odhiambo touched down for Blad with Peter Lugano landing Nondies consolation try.
After bolstering their squad with the inclusion of Kenya 7s international Billy Odhiambo,Mwamba returned to winning ways as they stunned much fancied Menengai Oilers 12-7 in a pool B encounter.
Elsewhere,tries from Eric Shikuku and Frank Wanyama ensured that Sportpesa Quins beat Western Bulls 17-5 in the second pool B match of the day.
Strathmore Leos survived a late Mean Machine comeback attempt to claim a 22-17 win in a pool C clash.
In pool D,Kabras had to come from behind to beat Catholic Monks 34-5.Kabras scored through Malik Habil’s brace,Brian Tanga and Felix Ayange.
In the second pool D clash,Martin Owilah,Shaban Ahmed and Andrew Amonde were all on target as KCB labored to a 22-5 win over MKU Thika.
