Menengai Oilers’ captain Harold Aduvate expressed his delight after he received two awards at the concluded Kabeberi 7s tournament in Nairobi.
Aduvate scooped the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award as well as the top tries scorer award and he could not hide his joy.
“These awards mean alot to me,because i have always prayed to God for such and i thank the world for believing in me and awarding me as the Most Valuable Player at this tournament,”an excited Aduvate said.
The former Menengai High School player further admitted that the tournament was tough but the self belief they possessed propelled them to the Kabeberi cup final.
“The tournament has been tough but one thing we had is self belief since we never wanted to let ourselves down and we wanted to improve on what we achieved at the previous tournament,”he added.
Aduvate added that by reaching the Kabeberi final, Oilers sent a strong message that they will be worthy title contenders in subsequent legs of the national 7s circuit.
“It has been tough facing Impala twice in the same tournament;first in the pool match and also at the final ..reaching the cup final here means that we are capable of claiming the top prize,”he concluded.
