Homeboyz RFC’s target in this year’s national sevens circuit is to reach all the cup finals just like they did in 2016,according to coach Paul Murunga.
The Deejays have already hit one of their targets as they made it to the Driftwood 7s final in Mombasa where they blew aside Nakuru RFC to lift the main cup.
Speaking after they were crowned Driftwood Kings,Murunga said that being crowned overall series champions requires consistency in all the six legs and that is why they intend to make it to each and every final as they seek to defend their title.
“Last year we reached all the finals and it takes consistency to do that..this year is no different and we have started off well by reaching the Driftwood final and winning it so we expect to replicate the same form in the remaining five legs,”said Murunga.
Going to the Kabeberi 7s,Homeboyz will be seeking to dethrone defending champions Impala whom they lost to in last year’s cup final.
