Homeboyz RFC began their quest for the Kabeberi 7s title with a 22-14 win against hosts Mwamba RFC at the RFUEA grounds on Saturday, September 9.

The Deejays ran in tries courtesy of a brace by Cyprian Kuto but non of Kuto’s tries was converted.

After piling pressure to the Homeboyz backline,Mwamba finally found the breakthrough as Alex Aturo touched down to take the scores to 10-7 at halftime.

Soon after resumption captain Jeffrey Oluoch raced to the tryline as Homeboyz took a 15-7 lead.

Jeff Oluoch soon grabbed his brace as he touched down in sublime fashion with former Kenya 7s international Michael Wanjala converting for a 22-7 Homeboyz lead.

Veteran player Horace Otieno then touched down under the posts for Mwamba but that was not enough as Homeboyz ran out 22-14 winners.
