Homeboyz RFC had a difficult time in seeing off Nakuru based side Menengai Oilers in an entertaining main cup  semi final clash at the ongoing Driftwood 7s on Sunday September 3.

The Deejays found themselves trailing early on as Menengai Oilers grabbed a try courtesy of Eric Ombasa but the Nakuru based side would be dealt a major blow as their player was sinbinned.

Homeboyz utilized their numerical advantage as Kenya international Leonard Mugaisi touched down but Michael Wanjala sent his conversion wide as the sides went to the breather tied at 5-all.

After resumption,Mugaisi was at it again as he grabbed his brace to hand Homeboyz a 10-5 lead as Oilers tried to respond with Homeboyz surviving the late scare.

In the second cup semi final,Nakuru RFC saw off Mean Machine 7-0.Despite their player having been sent to the sinbin,Nakuru took an early 7-0 lead courtesy of Chrispinus Onyango who raced down from the 10 metre line to touch down.

Machine failed to utilize a late penalty as Nakuru held on to set up a date with Homeboyz in the cup final.
