Nakuru RFC and Impala Saracens managed to make it to the main cup quarter finals of the ongoing Driftwood 7s at the Mombasa Sports Club after the final round of pool matches on Saturday September 2.

Western Bulls completed the pool stages without registering a single win as they fell 17-0 to Blak Blad who had earlier lost to Homeboyz before holding Nakuru to a 19-all stalemate.

The win over Bulls was however not enough for Blad to make cup quarters as Nakuru settled for second spot in pool A after narrowly going down 14-12 to Homeboyz.

Menengai Oilers also managed to book their place in the Cup quarters after running in three tries and a conversion to see of Kisii RFC 17-0.

Surprise package Mean Machine also sneaked to the cup quarters after seeing off hosts Mombasa 17-0 as Impala beat KCB 17-7 to ensure the bankers drop to challenge trophy.

Impala’s win against KCB ensured that Machine managed to make it to Sundy’s main cup quarter final.

After beating Strathmore and loosing to Kabras in their first two matches,Nondies RFC managed to comfortably dismiss KCA 27-0 to secure a spot in the cup quarters.

Defending Driftwood sevens champions Sportpesa Quins compounded Mwamba’s miseries after narrowly edging them 7-0 in a fiercely contested clash.

Kabras ensured that they wound up their pool stage campaign with a comfortable 17-0 dismissal of Strathmore Leos who now drop to the challenge trophy.
