Hong Kong head coach Leigh Jones unearthed the lessons they picked from their two test matches against the Kenya Simbas in Nairobi.
The Dragons managed to hold the Simbas to a 19-all stalemate in the first test before upsetting the hosts 43-34 in the second test 5 days later,a victory which ensured that they were crowned the test champions.
Speaking in Nairobi after the shock win, Leigh Jones said that they had learnt on not to give away possession easily as that might turn out to be costly.
“We have learnt not to turn over possession.. We must look at the ball more effectively because when we get teams with pace,we might be punished as it happened around 3 times here,” Said Jones.
He further went ahead to talk about the upcoming 4 nations tournament slated for November in Hong Kong where the Simbas have landed an invitation.
“I expect your guys (Kenya) will learn lessons.. They are coming to play against quality teams like Russia and Chile,” he concluded.
