Hong Kong captain Jamie Tsang was ‘over the moon’ after he led his side to a shock 43-34 victory over Kenya Simbas in Nairobi on Saturday.
Speaking at the end of the second test, the skipper said that the win against Kenya was a confidence booster and it will impact positively in their bid to make it to the 2018 rugby world cup.
“This is a start as we aim at the World cup qualifiers. Our confidence is now enhanced and that is a massive thing so is momentum,” he said.
Tsang also went ahead to echoe his coach’s sentiments, adding that probably the hosts took them lightly.
-They saw their replacement players push us close last week so they thought it would be easy but we showed them it wasn’t”
Hong Kong’s Saturday win against Kenya saw them win the two test series after the first test had ended in a 19-all stalemate.
