Hong Kong rugby head coach Leigh Jones is cautious ahead of their second match in a week against the Kenya Simbas at the RFUEA grounds in Nairobi.
Speaking to Hong Kong Rugby, the tactician said that he is well aware of the massive changes that the Simbas have made from last weekend’s match which sees the return of captain Wilson Kopondo among other seasoned players.Jones says that he expects the Simbas to provide a better challenge.
“They’ve strengthened their squad significantly. They tried a lot of bench guys in game one, which kind of backfired. This team looks more like the one that played Namibia in the Africa Cup. They’ve brought in their captain and several other players and there’s a message in there, I think,” Jones said.
He further added that they will have to be at their very best keeping in mind the number of changes that Kenya has rang in their squad.
“With Kenya bringing the cavalry in, we will have to work a lot harder to get our points. We feel they will be 20% better as well; so that’s where we are. This is great exposure and a good test for the guys to show them what international rugby is all about,” concluded Jones.
The second test between the Kenya Simbas and Hong Kong will get underway at 1600hrs and fans can get to watch it on Bamba Sports as well as stream it through the Bamba Sports official facebook page.
