Kenya international prop Bramwel Mayaka is reportedly set to join 2015 Kenya Cup champions Kabras RFC from Homeboyz.
A source privy to the Scrummage confirmed that the Homeboyz rugby forward who recently made his debut for the Simbas is in Kakamega and may be on his way to penning a deal with the sugar millers.
“Mayaka was in town (Kakamega)..I understand Kabras RFC is going to be his next home. The side is beefing up as they want to have a good season,”a source told Scrummage.
Should the deal go through,Mayaka may become Kabras’ fifth signing after they had earlier completed a swoop for Nakuru RFC trio of Mike Okombe, flanker Coleman Were and lock Charlton Mokua.
Kabras currently has Ernest Ngong,Hillary Mwanjilwa,Dennis Mukabi,Duncan Mwangi and Robert Kweya as loose head and tight head props thus Mayaka will have to fight for a place in the Charles Cardovillis coached side.
The Kakamega based side is currently bolstering its squad ahead of the upcoming 15s season as they seek to wrestle back the Kenya Cup title from holders KCB.
