With only a few weeks remaining to the George Mwangi Kabeberi memorial 7s tournament, hosts Mwamba RFC are set for the action.
Speaking to Mwamba rugby, the tournament’s director Anthony Karanja said that the Kabeberi 7s is regarded as one of the best in the country thus the need for proper fan experience.
“Kabeberi Sevens is regarded as one of the best sevens leg on the National Sevens Series and we aim to improve the experience every year,”
Feedback we’ve received has indicated a strong need for a ‘family experience’ which is why we shall block out a section of the stadium as an alcohol-free zone, with the Kiddies Village there to provide entertainment for the little ones during the day – free of charge. One section will be the party stand again and we’re excited to see what fun ways fans will come up with to show their support for their teams and the other teams in action,” he added.
The tournament will take place on the weekend of 9-10 September 2017 at the RFUEA grounds in Nairobi, with Impala Saracens seeking to defend the title thet won last year.
This year’s Kabeberi 7s tournament was initially slated for July but was postponed to September due to the general elections.
