On Saturday 15th July 2017,the Kenya Simbas will be out to continue with their good show when they host Senegal at the RFUEA grounds in an Africa Gold Cup match.
Going into the match,Kenya has managed to play to a 33-all draw against Uganda Cranes before mauling Tunisia 100-10 in their second match and this ensured that they climb up to second on the log.Meanwhile, the West Africans are yet to win a match after falling to Zimbabwe in their opening match before narrowly loosing 17-16 to Uganda in Dakar and this was followed by a heavy 95-0 loss at the hands of Namibia in Windhoek. This leaves the Senegalese lying in 5th position on the standings.
There has only been one match played beetween the two sides before, that is the Semi final of the Africa Cup in 2009,where the Simbas managed to win the clash 22-7.Saturday’s encounter is therefore expected to be the only second meeting between the sides.
Kenya Simbas will be relying on their top points scores,KCB duo of Darwin Mukidza and Jacob Ojee who have so far been instrumental in Kenya’s Gold Cup campaign.Mukidza managed to bag 29 points in Simbas last outing against Tunisia which sees him top the scorers chat with 40 points. On the other hand,Ojee has managed to touch down 5 times for Jerome Paarwater’s side.
Senegal on their part will be banking on their top points scorer,Folliot Aldric who has so far contributed 22 points;2 conversions and 6 penalties.Aldric currently placed in sixth position in the points scorers chart.
