Kenya Cup side Kabras RFC is set to rope in a forward from their rivals Nakuru RFC.
A source close to the Kakamega based club revealed to the Scrummage that Coleman Were arrived in Kakamega on Monday and he is set to seal his move with the Sugarmen.
When contacted, Nakuru Rugby club admitted that the Sugarmen had expressed interests in signing Mike Okombe, Coleman Were and Charlton Mokua but they will not be leaving as they are dependable stars.
“Kabras had inquired about them. But they are still with us. We won’t be selling any of our best players, Nakuru Secretary Davis Gwada told Scrummage.
If he seals the move the hooker will compete for the starting slot with Sava Racigi who has been a regular starter for the side last season.
Geoffrey Shitambasi will also be fighting for a first team slot against Racigi while Prop Joseph Amalemba can also be slotted in the hooking role.
Kevin Keegan has already joined the side and has been omitted from Kenya Harlequins squad for the upcoming Sevens Season.
