Chavakali High School from Vihiga County and Bungoma High will represent the Western Region in the National Secondary School 7s games.
Chavakali emerged winners in regional games beating Bungoma 41-7 in the finals played in Nambale Busia County.
No kakamega county
Schools from Kakamega County which have been dominant in rugby in recent years failed to sparkle this time round with their representatives Musingu bowing out of the at the quarters after 12-10 loss to Bungoma high.
Former Champions St Peters were also knocked out at the same stage after a 36-5 loss to Chavakali.
East African Champions and National 15s Champions Kakamega did not make it to the Regional games after their journey was cut short at the county level for the first time in the country’s 7s games.
Maseno School will represent the Nyanza region in the 2017 National 7s games after beating Rapogi 24-14 in the regional finals.
Maseno rivals St Marys Yala who represented the region in the National 15s games missed a chance in the finals ans finished third.
