Kenya 7s were knocked out of the challenge trophy quarters after a 12-7 loss to Argentina in Paris 7s.
Velez became the first player to touch down in match but Argentina failed to convert it giving Kenya a chance to get back into the game. Kenya’s efforts to recover were hampered after Augustine Lugonzo was sin binned and the first half ended with Argentina leading 5-0.
In the second half Kenya came back strongly and Eden Agero’s well calculated pass saw Nelson Oyoo sprint to the try box scored a try that was converted, putting Kenya into the lead.
Revol then kicked past Kenya’s defence, chased the ball and touched near the posts and his try was converted for a 12-7 lead.
Kenya pushed on as they only need a converted try to win the match but could not break Argentina’s defence in the final minutes of the game.
The loss has sent Kenya to 13th place battle where they face Russia.
