Kenya 7s starts Paris 7s on losing note


Paris 7s hosts France came from behind to beat Kenya 7s 20-14 in first match off pool C.
Frank Wanyama touched down the first try for Kenya 7s at the second minute of play and Impala Star Sammy Oliech converted it for a 7-0 lead.

Three minutes later the hosts France replied through Candelon but Barraque missed the conversion.
Before the halftime whistle Billy Odhiambo touched down for Kenya and Oliech converted the try for a 14-5 lead.
In the second half Kenya received a major blow after Oliech was sinbinned and the hosts capitalized on one man advantage and scored try through Barraque but he failed to convert his own try. He added another try few minutes later for a 15-14 lead.
Vakatawa who missed the last two legs touched down the fourth try for France but Popelin missed the conversion.
Kenya will now need to win the remaining two matches to make it to the quarters.
