Impala Saracens forward Derrick Mayar is eyeing more tries as he travels with Kenya 7s to Paris and London 7s.
Mayar has one try to his name which came during Singapore 7s against New Zealand and he is looking forward to seal his position in the team and contribute more tries to help the team have a successful outing in France and England.
“I have not become a regular with the team yet. I have only scored one try in my seven series career. French & UK soil provide another opportunity for me to cross over the chalk more than once. We got grossly disappointed in Singapore after bowing out of the quarter finals,” Mayar told Impala’s official portal.
“The conditions were right for us to win, but we didn’t do the right thing when required to. The referee merely oversees proceedings. I have put the Singapore loss behind as I focus on nothing short of contributing to a Cup win in Paris & London” he added.
Mayar is in the squad alongside his fellow Impala teammate Sammy Oliech who has become a regular name in the team.
